Want a little more kindness in your day?

"IF YOU WANT MORE KINDNESS IN THE WORLD,  PUT SOME THERE."  -Zero Dean

I don’t need (or even want) to remind you how intense the past year has been. We have experienced more than enough loss, heartache, hope, love, and utter fatigue.

We all know that neighborhood businesses are the heart of our Boulder community and also the backbone of the American economy.

Which is why I am inviting you, right now, to stop criticism and judgement (towards yourself and others) and be the kindness and healing you want to see in the world. Get in the flow of gratitude, take some small steps and encourage others to join you.

What you put into the world multiples and comes back to you! So let’s get started:

The best way to support any small business is to shop there, often. However, there are many other ways to support a small business (for free!) that also make a big impact.

Be well,  Perrin

5 WAYS YOU CAN SUPPORT YOUR FAVORITE BUSINESSES WITHOUT SPENDING A DIME.

⭐ Write an Honest 5-star review on Yelp! or Google

I know, I know, you never write reviews. So who do you think does?

Don't let the haters have all the fun or the final say. Whether it’s logical or not, most people trust online reviews as much as if they were from a close friend. So one the absolute best things you can do to support a small business is post an honest 5-star review on GoogleYelp! There is no need to overthink this, just write what you would tell your good friend.

Be the Change Challenge: Leave honest 5-star reviews (even if it's been awhile since you've been in) for 3 SMALL businesses on Google and/or Yelp. Bonus points if you include a photo. I’ll join you and support my business neighbors in the Community Plaza.

⭐ Refer a Friend or Family Member

The best kept secret in town is not likely to stay in business very long. Share the Love!

Be the Change Challenge: Tell a friend about a good experience you have had during the pandemic. Stop worrying if people will judge you for doing something they haven’t done yet, maybe it will inspire some hope.

⭐ Follow on Instagram or Facebook

Comment, like, share. Every interaction tips the algorithm in the right direction. Do whatever feels good to you.

Be the Change Challenge: Post a photo on your social media and tag a local business you are happy is still in business. #BeTheChange #KindnessMatters #SupportSmallBusiness

⭐ Subscribe and Read Emails

You’re doing it right nowThank you!

Be the Change Challenge: Check your promotions folder, unsubscribe if you are no longer interested, but if you are interested then open those e-newsletters and see what you can learn.

⭐ Vote for Best of Boulder

It may seem silly but a little recognition for hard work always feels good. So take a few minutes and vote. The survey has more than 100 questions but you only need to answer 25 for yours to be counted. Voting ends March 31. We would appreciate your support in these categories:

  • #122 Day Spa

  • #126 Hair Salon

  • #132 Nail Salon

Be the Change Challenge: Vote early and vote often (just kidding, one vote per person like all good democratic elections) for your favorite Boulder Businesses in the Boulder Weekly’s 2021 Best of Boulder. Voting closes March 31, 2021 so don’t procrastinate.
