Can fine be FABULOUS?

Hello Beautiful Soul,

I had a fascinating conversation with a fascinating client the other day that I think you might find interesting as well. We were discussing how “fine” is the new fabulous. I mean how many times have you recently participated in a conversation that went something like: “How are you? “Fine, really I’m fine, I’m healthy enough, my family has plenty of food, I mean I’m going crazy with kids at home and I miss (insert one of a million people or activities here) but all in all I’m fine especially considering everything that is going on.”

If you’re like most people, some version of this exchange is a daily occurrence. Here is what my brilliant client helped me see, fine is just that, fine. And at least for now why can’t fine be enough? We both have so much to be grateful for and at the same time living through a pandemic during a time of political and economic uncertainty is tough. Fine does not preclude peace, compassion or even joy. Sure fine lacks excitement but as she pointed out, excitement is probably not what our nervous systems need right now. I don’t know about you, but I’m going to take a deep breath and enjoy a moment of being perfectly fine and I invite you to join me.

Later that evening, I scrolled past this quote on my Instagram feed:

"Generosity in times of extreme uncertainty, scarcity, and negativity leads to certain, abundant, and positivley beautiful karma." @brendonburchard

Are things uncertain, scarce and sometimes negative for neighborhood businesses right now, yep, and also, thankfully, we are totally fine, which is enough.

That’s why this month, with your help, we are giving back.In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month we will be offering pink ribbons for a $1 contribution to Boulder Valley Women’s Health. And with the intent of increasing abundance, positivity and beauty, Orange Poppy Spa will match $1 for each ribbon sold. Afterall, we are all in this together and Orange Poppy is blessed to be just fine.
